Building Resilience in the Midst of Trauma

The Building Better Lives Initiative is offering a free 2-part training that covers the foundational brain science, as well as applications for building resilience.

TECH CORPS Unplugged PD Session

TECH CORPS is partnering with the Teaching & Learning Collaborative and the Ohio Afterschool Network to provide a FREE professional development session specifically for out-of-school-time educators. This session is thoughtfully designed for practitioners who work directly with elementary and middle school-aged students. Participants will walk away with lessons and valuable strategies for implementing computer science activities with their students and receive a cash stipend for completing lessons and student surveys.

Summer Literacy Institute Early Childhood Strand

National experts and keynote speakers Zaretta Hammond and American Cartoonist Jamar Nicholas will lead our collaborative learning on Cultivating a Love of Learning.

Along with literacy-related topics across the reading rope, new sessions will focus on literacy in art, equity and early childhood--in partnership with SproutFive.

Introduction to Restorative Practices

The Restorative Practices session will provide the participants with practical approaches designed to increase adult/student relationships, connection, safety, and opportunities for success and learning. This framework and active practice will include an overview of Restorative Practices and alignment to school/classroom universal expectations using intentional and explicit practice.

Additional areas to be covered will include:

•The Restorative Practices Continuum

•The Social Discipline Window

•Introduction to Restorative Circles

2nd Annual Mental Health Resource Fair 

This year's event will again offer the opportunity to network with more than 40 community based and private mental health providers and community agencies to explore partnerships and resources. We will again offer professional learning sessions on topics such as serving boys and boys of color, human trafficking, crisis planning and more! CEU's will again be offered in partnership with Columbus Public Health.

Food  Trucks will be onsite and we'll have yoga, therapy animals and massage too!

The event is for area superintendents, school leaders, school social workers, school counselors, nurses, family liaisons, community organizations, agencies and more!

CASEL Cares Initiative: Weekly Webinars

CASEL CARES is a new initiative that connects the SEL community with experts to address how SEL can be most helpful in response to today’s circumstances.
